A unique quilt, entirely hand quilted with sashiko threads. This quilt project was born out of my wish to give a new life to some of our seconds scarves to create one of a kind patterns which are not always possible to achieve with wood block printing alone. I've created this pattern by attaching four Sundial wood block printed scarves which are printed in rich ochre and black dyes. The original design of this scarf was inspired by the sundial consisting of a gigantic triangular stone gnomon situated at Jantar Mantar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
The quilt is stuffed with thin pure cotton batting. The edges are finished in black cotton binding finished by hand. The textiles used in this quilt, both front and back are made on a pit loom with silk and cotton yarns.
