Perihelion l quilt

This quilt project was born out of my wish to give a new life to our hand block printed seconds scarves. Due to the nature of the printing process many pieces have minor imperfections which not only add to the beauty of each piece but gives it a strong character, making each quilt unique. 

The pattern of this quilt is created by combining three Perihelion scarves. Longer seams are machine sewn whereas the large circle is attached by by hand. The quilt is stuffed with bamboo batting which is lightweight and drapes beautifully. 

The backside of this quilt is made from extremely soft off white organic cotton. The entire quilt is hand quilted with Japanese sashiko thread. This quilt will look great displayed on a bed or as a wall hanging.
